All  of these great men had a dream.........

Robert, John and Martin all had a dream for our nation ,our world and people.

A dream that has been some how forgotten despite the fact all three of these heroes sacrificed their lives in the pursuit of the dream. They fought for a world of equality and justice for all. Without their leadership and guidance we have some how lost the way. Now we must revisit the ideals and inspirations of these fallen heroes and take action-now! Power For The People-All People.

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

-Martin Luther King, Jr.

"If Man is to survive, he will have learned to take delight in the essential difference between people and cultures"-Gene Roddenberry

Gene Roddenberry had a vision of the future: one where there was a common purpose of growth and understanding . People from all backgrounds, nations, faiths and races worked together as equals. Technology was available to all as a tool to explore and grow. Gene Roddenberry's vision of the future is the catalyst that has inspired solcomhouse. Our "prime directive" should be to follow the vision and foresight that Gene Roddenberry put forth as our potential future. A future where poverty does not exist, one where technology is not the great segregator but the great equalizer.

Our Mission

The solcomhouse website provides information to everyone on how to do your part to save the planet . The Goals of solcomhouse are to provide the people of the world housing that is in sync and in harmony with the environment. solcomhouse provides information on numerous environmental issues, such as solar energy, rainforests, coral reefs, ozone, global warming, endangered species, recycling, and things you can do to save the environment. solcomhouse can build a house that will save 70% of energy costs with no additional building costs just by design and placement. With a photovoltaic system added the house will be energy self sufficient.

Our name solcomhouse is a combination of the following words:

  solar computer house

We will enable the people to acquire the power of knowledge and the power of the Sun, the power for the people. All of our projects will incorporate the following:

RECYCLED PRODUCTS- ENERGY EFFICIENT DESIGN- STEEL FRAMING- ENERGY EFFICIENT APPLIANCES- PHOTOVOLTAIC ENERGY SYSTEM- COMPUTER CONNECTED-INTERNET ACCESS-PASSIVE SOLAR DESIGN

Through most of history people considered the power of the sun when designing buildings. After the industrial revolution the practice of utilizing the sun was abandoned.

Past societies such as the Greek, Roman, Native American, Celtic all revered the sun and put its thermal - or heat - energy to work. Ancient cities were positioned to use the sun for it's warmth in the winter, and to be shaded from the heat in the summer.

Native Americans developed and refined many building forms and construction methods that we can learn from today.

The Anasazi of the southwest created houses that through their design stayed warm in the winter and yet cool in their hot desert summers. At the ancient Indian sites of Mesa Verde and Pueblo Bonito,"pretty village" in Spanish, the ruins reveal houses ingeniously laid out to maximize their solar energy gain by following the cycles and angles of the sun.

The Ancient Romans and Greeks both had their own "energy crisis" in the b.c. time period.

They used all of the wood surrounding their cities and did not plan ahead by planting more trees. They had to get wood from far away sources. The ancient Greeks planned whole cities in Greece and Asia Minor such as Priene, to allow every homeowner access to sunlight during winter to warm their homes. By running the streets in a checkerboard pattern running east-west and north-south pattern every home could face south, permitting the winter sun to flow into the house throughout the day.

Roman bath houses in the first to fourth centuries A.D. had large south-facing windows to let in the sun's warmth.

The Roman Empire had solar access laws, and the Doctrine of Ancient Lights protected landowners' rights to light in nineteenth-century Britain. Several dozen U.S. communities adopted solar access regulations in the 1970s and early 1980s in response to the energy crisis.

Queens, NY - Inner-city row housing with burned-out buildings

We have another thing in common with these great cultures-when their main cultural centers fell into decay it was the down fall of both the Greek and Roman civilizations. That is what has happened to our major cities-population and business has left for the suburbs. Our culture has lost its sense of community and belonging. We will build solcomhouse in the "brown areas"-sites where factories and industry are now vacant and abandoned dilapidated home areas of major cities. Philadelphia alone has roughly 27,000 abandoned homes and 16,000 vacant lots

The people that live in these neighborhoods now have a  second class citizenship standard. In effect the computer technology revolution is putting into place a technological segregation based on color and income levels.

We will build a home that will be in harmony with nature and the environment. solcomhouse will harness  the power of the Sun. solcomhouse will be connected to the internet and provide the power for the people.       The Internet Age and The People

The Internet Revolution is bypassing the poor and minorities and those that live in rural communities and inner cities in the United States and around the world.

The gap between people who have access to the internet and those that don't is getting increasingly wider day by day. This gap is clearly between racial and income levels. Minorities, low-income persons, the less educated, and children of single-parent households, particularly when they reside in rural areas or central cities, are among the groups that lack access to information resources. Knowledge is power and a vast portion of our nation has no access to it.

To be connected today increasingly means to have access to telephones, computers, and the Internet. While these items may not be necessary for survival, arguably in today's emerging digital economy they are necessary for success. solcomhouse will harness the power of the Sun. solcomhouse will be connected to the internet and provide the power for the people.  The goal of solcomhouse is to use these principles and meld them with the technology that is available to enhance the quality of life for the people and the world.  solcomhouse will  provide housing that gives the people of the world housing that is in sync and in harmony with the environment.  solcomhouse will provide the power for the people.
